Sunset 14 August 2012

Not spectacular color-wise by any means, but this was still a pretty nifty sunset. The clouds were covering the setting sun leaving that patch of golden-red shining through and highlighting the clouds. It was pretty. Then there was this one fluffy cloud by itself that I just took a liking to. Not entirely sure why, but it was cool.

Early Morning Clouds

The days are getting shorter and the sunrises are coming later now as the sunsets are coming earlier. Today there was a pretty stretch of clouds outside my window with a faint pinkish-peach tone.

Sunset 29 July 2012

The sunset was so beautiful. Lots of yellows and oranges tonight. A little later, I didn’t have my camera on me at the time to capture the change, and there was more red and purple hues that were really beautiful. I even got a shot of the moon which is slowly getting fatter as we head towards the next full moon. It was a glorious end to a nice day spent with family.

Mini Antique Car & Tractor Show

My nephew’s baptism was today and this just happens to correspond with the same day that the church is holding an antique car and tractor show. How cool is that?

Also cool is the mini John Deere. This one was in mint condition. The one that we have from my dad and aunt’s childhood isn’t in such a nice condition, but still. Ours was bigger and it saw a lot of miles. It has a lot of history, too. My dad rode it, my aunt rode it, my sister and I rode it, my baby brother and sisters rode it, and now my sister’s daughter has ridden it. When the little guy gets bigger, he’ll have to ride it, too. Ah, these things bring back so many memories.

Sunrise 9 July 2012

Yesterday morning’s sunrise had some nice pink undertones to the clouds. No vibrant colors like some mornings, but soft and pretty. It’s nice to see the colors in the morning sky again. These colors correspond with the cool down we have gotten. At last the scorching weather has left Michigan. For now anyways.

Calendar – July 2012

I chose this picture for July as it had a really summery feel and July is the month where summer really starts to take off it seems. Although, this is the year of funky weather, so who knows if July will feel like summer. I also really like this picture for the contrast in the deep blue of the lake and the light blue of the sky and the varying shades of green you get in the bushes and grass. And then there’s this red sail thingy. I must be attached to something, but we can’t see what and I really like that for some reason.

Sunset: 20 May 2012

After spending my birthday with my sister’s family and grandparents, I finally ended my vacation last night and headed back home. After a brief pit stop to pick up much needed groceries, I made it home and was greeted by this sunset. Ah, it’s good to be home; although, I do miss my niece, nephew, sister, and brother-in-law.

Sunset: 17 May 2012

Another gorgeous sunset. The days aren’t too cold, but the nights get really cold. Maybe that’s how you can have such great sunsets sometimes. I do wonder. You can get nice sunsets in summer, but I think some of my best sunset pictures are actually taken in fall and winter… or was that my best sunrises? I don’t remember actually. Oh well. Tonight’s sunset was a beautiful pinkish purple fusion once again.

Sunset at the New House

My sister recently moved a week or two before my baby nephew was born and I must say that the view is an improvement over her last house. This house is situated on hill with a great view of the western sky. A nice deck out back makes taking pictures fun. Now if only I could get the one window’s screen to go up and then I could get even more cool pictures at a different angle.
